BIOGRAPHY

Tim Nijenhuis was born and raised in Enschede, the Netherlands. He was taught organ and piano by Gerard Voogd, church organist in Enschede, and he is self-taught on guitar and bass guitar.

 

As pianist with the gospel choir “Discipel” (the Dutch chapter of “the Continental Singers”) he performed contemporary worship music in concert tours in various European countries. He attended the Reformed Bible College “de Wittenberg” in Zeist, the Netherlands, and studied music theory at Redeemer University College in

Ontario, Canada.

 

In the Netherlands he worked for the Dutch opera company “Nationale Reisopera”. After settling in Hamilton, Ontario Canada, he began serving as a church musician for the Canadian Reformed Church. He continued studying harmony, composition and piano performance with Roland Packer (A.R.C.T.) and pursued music production and filmscoring studies at Berklee College of Music.

 

For about 10 years he taught vocal and instrumental music at Guido de Brès, Christian High School in Hamilton,

Ontario. He served as musical director at Blessings Christian Church and is active as band leader and session musician for various ensembles for local performances, studio work, and international tours, with an emphasis on Blues and Funk music
